Pricing

No mystery fees, no “we’ll see when it’s done.” I use clear minimums and hourly rates, and I’ll tell you the plan and cost before any work starts.

Quick overview

Bench work (in shop)

Most in-shop troubleshooting and repair work:

  • Diagnosis Fee $50 unless an avenue of repair is selected. Then this fee is waved.
  • Hourly rate: $125/hr billed in 15 minute increments.

On-site work (your home/office)

For networking, printer issues, or systems that can’t be moved (and for customers who prefer in-home help):

  • $50 on-site travel/diagnostic commitment (within ~30 minutes of Hanover)
  • Waived if you proceed with service
  • $125 first hour on-site (minimum)
  • After the first hour: $125/hr billed in 15-minute increments
  • Outside ~30 minutes: travel/diagnostic commitment is $100

Remote support & training

Secure remote sessions or 1-on-1 help:

  • Billed in 15 minute increments.
  • Hourly rate: $125/hr
  • Perfect for questions, setup, or light troubleshooting.

Billing note: All hourly labor is billed in 15-minute increments (after any stated minimum).

Parts, hardware, and any special order items are not included in labor rates unless specifically noted.

  • General bench work: Minimum $50 + $100/hr
  • RAM install: $20
  • CMOS battery (easy access): $10

  • CPU thermal paste refresh: Minimum $50

  • Full OS install (Windows): $250 flat
  • Includes 50 GB of data migrated from your old system where possible.
  • Data migration 50 GB+ (beyond OS package): Minimum $50 + $100/hr
  • Data recovery < 100 GB: $40 flat
  • Data recovery 100–500 GB: Minimum $75 + labor
  • Data recovery 500 GB–2 TB: Minimum $75 + labor
  • Data recovery > 2 TB: Minimum $200 + labor

For failing drives, I’ll tell you honestly what the chances look like before we go too far.

NVMe / SSD upgrade packages

Packages include the drive plus installation and OS setup/migration:

  • 250 GB NVMe package: $325
  • 500 GB NVMe package: $350
  • 1 TB NVMe package: $400
  • 2 TB NVMe package: $475

These are great when the computer is otherwise solid but feels painfully slow or is running out of space.

Password, printer, remote & training

Password help

  • Local Windows account reset: Minimum $50
  • Microsoft account reset support: Minimum $50 + labor

I follow a strict verification process before doing any password resets to keep your data and identity safe.

Printers, remote support & training

  • In-home printer setup: Minimum $75 + $100/hr
  • Remote support session: Minimum $50 + $100/hr
  • 1-on-1 training session: Minimum $50 + $100/hr

Remote help is ideal for email issues, basic software problems, and “can you show me how to…” questions.

Networking & on-site work

Networking services

  • Ethernet drop (new cable run): $175 per drop
  • Termination only: $75 + $25 per end
  • Complex install: Minimum $100 + $100/hr
  • Networking troubleshooting: Minimum $75 + $125/hr
  • Basic router setup: $75 + $125/hr
  • Line-of-sight (LOS) radio setup – basic: $100 + $125/hr
  • Line-of-sight (LOS) radio setup – complex: $150 + $125/hr
  • LOS radio troubleshooting: $75 + $125/hr

I’ll always walk you through options first so you know what’s being installed and why.

Travel & on-site policies

  • On-site travel/diagnostic commitment: $50 (within ~30 minutes of Hanover)
  • Outside ~30 minutes: $100 travel/diagnostic commitment
  • Waived if you proceed with service during that visit
  • On-site labor: $125 for the first hour (minimum)
  • After the first hour: $125/hr billed in 15-minute increments
  • This keeps pricing fair: you’re paying for a reserved on-site time slot, not how long a specific task “looked like it took.”

Custom desktop builds (you supply parts)

Labor for custom builds

  • Minimum build labor: $200 + $100/hr
  • Typical total: $400–$550 (depending on complexity)

This covers planning, assembly, cable management, BIOS setup, Windows install, and basic stability testing.

How custom build pricing works

You provide the parts, and I provide the build and configuration. If you’d like help picking parts that actually make sense together, I can assist with that too as part of the labor.

Notes on pricing & estimates

  • You’ll always get a clear explanation and estimate before any major work starts.
  • If something unexpected comes up, I’ll contact you before continuing.
  • Some jobs fall below the minimum; in those cases, the minimum still applies.
  • If a repair isn’t worth the cost, I’ll tell you that and explain why.

Prices listed here are my standard rates and may be adjusted for unusual or complex situations. If you’re looking at a big decision – like fixing an older system vs. buying new – I’ll help you make that call with all the numbers in front of you.

Have a situation that doesn’t fit neatly into a box?

Just describe what’s going on. I’ll tell you what category it fits into, what it will likely cost, and whether it’s a smart repair or time to move on.
